Sounds Like Footsteps On My Roof

As i sit here in bed trying to get some sleep i cannot.

Sounds like footsteps on my roof.

Its not all in one area. I was cleaning leaves on my roof when this weird wave of low level sound started. A lot of things sound like foot steps but if they go on and on for hours no matter what there s a good chance that noise is something else. Communal living and sleeplessness will do it.

In new zealand the other animal that can be a cause of noises in the roof is the possum australian brushtail possum. This is a much larger animal than a rat or bird and it usually easy to tell its presence from the much heavier and slower footfalls and they don t gnaw wood like the rodents will. Trust me it sounds loud like a freaking human walking. Most of the noises seem to be coming from the top of the walls.

It comes from all around the room. I should also mention racoons birds and other animals make the same sound. Mice make scratching sounds squirrels sound like normal human footsteps magpies make an unearthly racket. It doesn t really come across in the video but the sound was impossible to pin down.

Hey just so you know i have footsteps on my roof at least 12 hours a day and sometimes at night it s called dem squirrels and if you want i can record it tomorrow morning lol. It literally sounds like someone punching sheetrock.
